THE 2023-2024 ARTISTS
Hermitage Piano Trio
Sunday, September 10, 2023, 3:00 p.m.
Garnering multiple Grammy nominations, the Hermitage Piano Trio have been described by The Washington Post for “such power and sweeping passion that it left you nearly out of breath.” The Trio is a champion of immense repertoire ranging from the works of the great European tradition to more contemporary American pieces.
The trio includes: Misha Keylin, violinist; Sergey Antonov, cellist; and Ilya Kazantsev, pianist.
Isidore Quartet
Sunday, October 15, 2023, 3:00 p.m.
The Isidore Quartet won the 14th Banff International String Quartet Competition in 2022 and were described as “utterly sincere, imaginative, and insightful” musicians by Mark Steinberg. Heavily influenced by the Juilliard String Quartet, the name Isidore honors and recognizes their close connection with the school.
The Quartet is comprised of: Devin Moore, violist; Joshua McClendon, cellist; and Adrian Steele and Phoenix Avalon, violinists.
Academy of St Martin in the Fields Chamber Wind Ensemble
Sunday, February 18, 2024, 3:00 p.m.
Formed in 1958, the Academy has a discography of over 500 releases and a rich international touring history. The Academy aims to continue “presenting symphonic repertoire and chamber music on a grand scale.”
The chamber wind ensemble members are: Timothy Rundle, oboe; Fiona Cross, clarinet;
Julie Price, bassoon; and Stephen Stirling, horn; with guest Caroline Palmer, piano.

Diana Adamyan, violin
Saturday, March 23, 2024, 7:00 p.m.
Diana Adamyan won the First Prize in the 2018 Yehudi Menuhin International Competition and in the 2020 Khachaturian Violin Competition. She has been invited to perform with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in London the Deutsche Symphonie Orchester at the Philharmonie in Berlin.
Diana will be accompanied by Renana Gutman.

about the rennolds series
The Department of Music at Virginia Commonwealth University has presented the top chamber music performers in the world to Richmond audiences for more than thirty years. VCU Music’s series, originally founded as the Terrace Concerts, debuted in 1983 in partnership with the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Today, the series is named in honor of Mary Anne Rennolds, one of Richmond’s greatest music patrons. A fund was established in her memory to present chamber music events in Richmond, independently of the Terrace Concerts. We cordially invite you to become a part of the premier chamber music series in Richmond.
